npower combines the former electricity and gas supply businesses of MEB, Calortex, MEB Powerline, National Power Energy Direct, Independent Energy, Yorkshire Electricity and Northern Electric & Gas. npower offers a range of essential home and business services to about 6.5 million customers across the UK.
npower's aim is to build ever-stronger customer relationships by offering these essential home and business services alongside their core products of gas and electricity. They believe their range of services complement their core products and offer customers simplicity and savings over traditional providers.
In August 2001 npower launched, then in partnership with Greenpeace, a pioneering new 'clean' electricity product called npower Juice. For the first time, customers were able to obtain electricity from clearly identified renewable sources at no extra cost. npower Juice customers helped speed up the development of Britain's first major offshore wind farm at North Hoyle (North Wales) which started generating clean electricity in November 2003, while in May 2004, npower become the exclusive supplier of green energy to the new Wembley National Stadium.
npower is headquartered in Worcester, but has operations across the UK. Its call centre operates 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, and 8am to 6pm on Saturdays.
npower is the trading name of Npower Limited (electricity supply company), Npower Gas Limited (gas supply company) and other associated companies.
